Aaaand, very exciting as well, as my baby...er I mean my son graduated from 8th grade, and we are all so darned proud of him. And he is practically a giant these days, I swear he's grown a foot in the last year. Look how cute he is...
On other fronts, both my kids are home for summer, so it is nice to have them around.
Yesterday, I had my first Jane Austen Literary Association for the Advancement of Fine Literature meeting ie: jane austen book club. I just felt like it needed a longer title. Lets see what it comes out to.... JALAAFL hmmmmm kind of....... "ja!l'awful"! Kinda funny. We all had sooo much fun. Two teenagers, and 3 adult women (one of the teen gals was a no-show). We laughed and laughed it was so much fun. My daughter was the decorator,
she turned our back yard into a delightful and elegant picnic area.
I could never think of all that! I made the Leek & Goat cheese quiche (Yummy, but too rich for me), cream cheese & art heart dip (Yum), and hummus w/greek olives dip and crackers. Catherine brought a salad , Lupe brought a basil and fresh mozzarella pasta salad (very yummy), and Alex brought her homemade choc chip cookies (again...Yum). 
So we blathered on, ate and ate, talked some more, laughed and laughed and ate some more. It was absolutely lovely. Oh yeah, we were discussing Pride & Prejudice, a great book. Our next book will be Sense & Sensibility, and we'll meet in a month or so on the beach cliffs of Laguna to discuss it. Here's some pics.............
P.S. Oooooh just found a place for all daughter's shots AND it's cheaper! Whooo Hooooo, thank you God! 'Course, I have to drive to Pasadena, but what the heck, we'll make a day of it!

i would have loved to been there. I love Jane austin...just got all her works in one beautifully bound book. Course i don't have time to read right now...but i plan on it after I graduate.
O.K. I am now jealous and can no longer secretly read this blog without comment. It was the pictures of the girly get together that did it. I googled your name about two weeks ago and couldn't believe I found this! Your kids are gorgeous, Eric looks great and you haven't aged a day.
I so need to move to Cali to hang out with you!!! I want to join your scrappin' club and now your book club! Hmmm...maybe I'll get something started next year.

Well geeps, I wish you all could've been there too! It's so nice, that i'm not the only sappy romantic (though you wouldn't know it to talk to me, I'm such a blunt thing)! I know LDN, that's why I'm reading now! It was always the first thing i'd do at the end of each semester, go out and get a fictional book! You will get done before you know it.
